Team

At Promax, our people are good at developing nutritional products for the active consumer – because we’re active consumers too! In fact, the inspiration for many of our new products is a direct result of our own healthy and active lifestyles. Here are a few team member bios:

Angela Brand Manager

As a registered dietitian, Angela loves scoping out new and innovative food products and ingredients in which to indulge. Whether it be the new superfruit from Asia or an age-old food that has became famous for functional ingredient benefits, Angela can be found scouring the nutrition news or wading through Saturday morning farmers’ markets for the perfect new little secret. Angela’s primary philosophy is “power in the food means power on the running track, power in relaxation, and power in life.” Taking a swig of a Cookies ‘n Cream Promax Protein Shake is a secret indulgence for Angela after a long hard marathon training run along the rocky Pacific Coast.

Brandon Sales Representative

After an eight-hour day of negotiating with retail store buyers and athletic departments across the country, Brandon burns the midnight oil by being a full time graduate student in sports management as well. “Between work and a full course load, my only option is to eat on the run. In order to keep balance, and have enough energy throughout the day, I have a Promax Strawberry Protein Shake for breakfast. When I do have free time you can catch me on the links in the spring and summer months. Once football season starts, I build up my frequent flyer miles by visiting numerous college campuses to watch football games – from Los Angeles to Baton Rouge to South Bend. You never know what kind of food options you will have while traveling, so I always pack plenty of the Promax 70 Calorie Bars in my carry-on.”

Cathy Head of R&D

The small flash of energy that just rushed past you is probably just Cathy, the head of R&D here at Promax. Her boundless energy and positive attitude, along with regular exercise, help to keep her young. She seldom stops for very long, and soon she’s off and running again. Despite her busy schedule, she understands the importance of good nutrition not only for herself but for her family as well. Grabbing a Black Forest Cake Promax Bar on the run certainly helps.

David VP of Marketing

David’s the “foodie” in the group – he loves finding new restaurants, trying new dishes at home, and discovering new food products. And that love of food, plus many years of marketing nutritional products, gives him a good background for all the new products & creative marketing that Promax is pursuing. For fun, David does some skiing (he can still out-ski his teenage son), plays racquetball, walks the family golden retriever, and is a huge soccer dad (how many calories can you burn — rooting & coaching your kids from the sidelines?). He is addicted to our Cookies n’ Cream 70 Calorie Bars, and his on-the-go wife raves about our Calcium Xpress supplements (since she hates swallowing pills). David makes many new friends when he tells people he works for Promax (can you PLEASE send me a few bars?)!

Gregg Sales, Health & Fitness

“The sports nutrition guy.” Having spent his life playing almost every sport – from hockey to running cross country – most evenings you can find Gregg playing some type of league sport. Then on the weekends, it’s sports tournaments for Gregg. Whether he’s traveling around the country to play softball, playing in a local golf tournament, or roller blading with the kids in the jogging stroller, Gregg always carries a stash of Promax products. A Vanilla Promax Protein Shake after a basketball game, or a Promax bar before a wallyball game fits Gregg’s lifestyle just perfectly!

Rebecca Executive Assistant

Rebecca starts her day off with a great tasting Promax Lemon Bar. When not fielding customer calls, placing orders, managing the office, or any number of things, you’ll find Rebecca out on the slopes, losing altitude and gaining speed as quickly as humanly possible. (Hey, was that Tim back there?) During the off-season, you’ll find her snorkeling in Dana Point’s natural coves, or hiking somewhere off in the High Sierras.

Ron Finance/Operations

In addition to playing Bean Counter, Ron also manages the operations for Promax. At home, Ron is busy chasing his 2 young girls through the park or planning his next family getaway. A perfect vacation for Ron might be diving off the coast of Belize and exploring its coral reef. Kicking around the soccer ball with his kids for an impromptu “see if we can beat Dad” can take a toll on Ron, so you might see him sneaking a Promax 70 Calorie Bar – Double Fudge Brownie – to support his game.

Suzanne Executive Assistant

Suzanne is a hike-a-holic, a regular at the gym, and a marathon dog walker. There’s nothing better than a Cookies n’ Cream Promax Bar to keep her going on a 6-hour hike up a big mountain, or after a long power-walk with her favorite pet. She also finds Promax 70 calorie bars are a great treat after dinner – when something far less healthy is usually tempting her. And putting packets of Joint Xpress in her hiking drinks helps keeps Suzanne’s joints ready for the next mile.

Terri Accounting Manager

Terri stays active by walking or biking at Huntington Beach on the weekends. Her Promax favorite? She likes to eat Nutty Butter Promax 70 calorie bars for a snack in between meals because they give her energy for work and homework – and they count for only two points with the Weight Watchers program.

Tim President/CEO

“The guy in the corner office.” Though he really does have a corner office, Tim would rather be on the ski slopes banging thru a mogul field of knee high bumps. “I’ll always eat a Promax bar riding on the chair lift to give me the energy I need so I don’t have to stop for lunch.” When the snow melts you might spot Tim riding his bicycle along PCH or paddling his kayak around Laguna Beach to catch a view of a school of dolphins. Perhaps late in the summer (after the mosquitoes are gone) you might pass Tim eating a Promax Bar on the trail while backpacking through the Sierras.
